When I got to Saskatoon, it was SNOWING! Son of a B****! Today is the first sunny day, not too sure what I am gonna do though.
I really like my apartment because it's my own! Also, it has hardwood floors and it is really quiet so no noises to bother me. I just had internet and cable hooked up tuesday, so thankfully I'm not losing my mind in boredom. I get over 300 channels and lots of good movies.
My workplace is your average office; desks, computers, coffee maker, etc. Sorry, no cool stuff like a slide or beer dispensors like the places we've seen. The people are very nice and helpful. They are giving me some pretty standard stuff to work on; I am currently updating their website with new people and awards. I also have some spare time so I've been planning out a few art pieces for my portfolio.
It is kinda of lonely here, since I don't know anyone. I feel like Paull Rudd from "I Love you, Man". Maybe I should arrange a "Man Date" with a random? That could lead to some hilarious antics, eh?
I would say the downside of living in Saskatoon is the loneliness. I hope I meet some people and things won't be that awkward. But don't let me bore you guys. Things are going good here, and to be honest, I do like the alone time right now. I'm thinking of going to central Saskatoon this weekend to check out the Mall and maybe go see a movie, perhaps Iron Man 2!
If anyone feels like talkin, don't be afraid to drop me a line, and if anyone knows of any good places to go see in Saskatoon, let me know. Hope to hear from ya'll.

Hey Jeff! I just thought I would let you know that we have not had any snow here! hehe But-- it has been really gloomy with rain and clouds so that isnt much better. Im glad your practicum is going well! Mine is too and my workplace is a normal workplace just like yours. We dont drink at work and we actually barely talk lol. It was really wierd because I am so used to being the one to tell everyone to "SHH!" but when we get there in the morning we say "hi" and stuff like " how was your weekend?" and thats about it. After that we get to work and everyone is in their own offices so we don't talk. It felt wierd at first but I've adjusted. How was Iron Man 2? I saw The Losers on Friday night and it was really good. You would like that one!
ReplyDeleteTalk to you later!!
Brady
p.s. How did you post a blog entry?!? lol I cant figure it out :S
Hey Jeff! About the loneliness I totally understand! I don't know anyone here in Regina and most of the people I work with are older guys so that sucks. I'm feeling the same way as you are about making friends. I feel like I need to join some sort of group. I haven't done any research about groups here in Regina but I'm sure I'll find something. Why don't you see if you can join a fitness group or something because you like to jog and what not. How'd you like Iron Man 2? I saw it last night and thought it was pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteBye Bud!
Hey Brady...and Kirsten! I'll talk to you both! We still have not had any sunny weather here. They say tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and for the rest of the week. Ya it is weird when talking with your employers, it's getting less awkward though every day. I was talkin with the guys about SNL + Betty White today, which was hilarious! And I also found a Green Day fan! Heck ya! They are still out there! I went downtown this weekend, its really nice, went to a cool Pub where they have over 50 international beers! I still have more places to go, and ya I wish I could join a gym but there are none around and I don't have a car, so looks like I'll be jogging around town; nice way to see what's around. And yes, Iron Man was awesome. Scarlett + Red Hair = HOT!!! I was thinkin of goin to see The Losers, maybe this weekend. I think I'm gonna keep checkin out the city and hopefully meet some people along the way, and maybe it won't be that lonely here.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, good to hear from you both. Hope all is well.
Jeff
P.S. - Brady, talk to Malena, she'll send you an invitation asking if you want to be an author of the site; that way you'll post your own stuff when you sign in.
Hey guys!!! I am glad you guys are finding a new groove in the new city! It is so exciting, and you have so much ahead of you guys!!! So, like I always said - Go for it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHere things are ok, missing you guys, but good! Curt is the new chair, so our dynamics will be changing a lot! We will see what will happened around here.
Brady - send me your personal email address, so I can add you as an autor!
Jeff - if you like dark beer you should try Bohemia Negra Modelo (it is a dark mexican beer, but really good :))
